Bridgeport Dumpster Rental owns and operates our own fleet
Bridgeport Dumpster Rental Solutions owns and operates our own trucks and roll-off containers out of our yard at 775 Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604, serving Bridgeport, Connecticut and the rest of Greater Bridgeport. We do not connect customers with third-party haulers or independent providers. Every container you rent from us is delivered, serviced, collected and disposed of by our own team.
General information only
The content on bridgeportdumpsterrentals.com — including our guides, blog articles, size charts, weight estimates and location pages — is published for general informational purposes to help you plan and describe your job accurately when you call. It reflects general industry practice around Bridgeport and Greater Bridgeport, but it is not professional advice, and specific pricing, availability and container terms are confirmed directly with you by our team before delivery.
How local government actually works in Connecticut
Connecticut abolished county government statewide back in 1960, and the state has no "unincorporated area" category either, since incorporated town and city boundaries cover 100% of the land. There is no county office to fall back on anywhere in this state. Bridgeport itself is its own incorporated city, City of Bridgeport, CT, which is our own home government. Every other community we serve — Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull, Monroe, Easton, Shelton, Milford, Westport, Norwalk, Weston and Stamford — is likewise its own separately incorporated municipality with its own government and its own rules on permits and the public right-of-way; see the location table on our service area page for each one's official site. "Fairfield County" and "Greater Bridgeport" as used on this site are geographic descriptions people around here recognize, not references to any governing body — Connecticut Metropolitan Council of Governments (MetroCOG) is a real regional planning council that several of these towns participate in, but it does not issue permits and is not anyone's local government.
Regulations change
Permit requirements, right-of-way rules, disposal fees, recycling programs and weather-related road restrictions are set by each town or city government, not by us, and they change without notice. Anything we say about them is our general understanding at the time of writing. Always confirm current requirements directly with the relevant authority before you rely on it:
- City of Bridgeport, CT — permits, right-of-way and city services for Bridgeport
- Connecticut Metropolitan Council of Governments (MetroCOG) — a real regional planning council for several Greater Bridgeport towns, not a governing authority
- CT Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) - Solid Waste — Connecticut solid waste regulation
- CT DEEP - Construction & Demolition Materials Management — Connecticut DEEP's Construction & Demolition Materials Management program
- Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) — Connecticut road and right-of-way information
- Call Before You Dig CT (call 811) — call 811 before any digging
Any of the towns listed above may set its own permit or right-of-way rule that differs from Bridgeport's — when in doubt, call that town's own office directly rather than assuming our own city's rule applies elsewhere.
Estimates are estimates
Container dimensions, capacities, weight allowances, project sizing guidance and any prices or price ranges shown on this site are approximate, general to the industry, and provided to help you describe your job when you call. Actual debris weights vary enormously with moisture, material and age — storm-soaked debris after a Nor'easter in particular. Nothing on this site constitutes a binding quotation. A rate is only binding once it is confirmed directly with you by our team.
Permit and placement responsibility
Unless we specifically agree in writing to secure a permit on your behalf, responsibility for any required placement permit — and for confirming whether one is needed for your address — rests with you, the customer. On private property, no permit is generally required anywhere we deliver; placement on a public street is where a permit most often applies, and which office to contact depends on the specific town or city involved — see the list above.
Coastal New England weather
Greater Bridgeport sees real coastal weather — Nor'easters off Long Island Sound, coastal flooding near the shoreline towns and an ordinary New England winter from roughly November through March — and that is a genuine, current factor in scheduling here, not a distant risk. We will delay or reschedule a delivery, service or pickup ahead of unsafe road or storm conditions where we judge it necessary, and we are not liable for delay caused by severe weather or its aftermath (see our Terms & Conditions, force majeure).
Not engineering or safety advice
Guidance on driveway loading, demolition, roof work, mold, asbestos and hazardous materials is general in nature. Structural, environmental and safety questions should be referred to a qualified professional — a structural engineer, a licensed abatement contractor, or your local building department as appropriate. See OSHA for workplace safety requirements.
