What to expect
Placement, permits and coastal New England seasonal realities
On your own driveway or private property, no permit is required anywhere we deliver. If a container needs to sit on a public street instead, City of Bridgeport, CT is the office to confirm a temporary placement permit with for an address inside Bridgeport itself. Connecticut abolished county government back in 1960, so there is no county permit office anywhere in the state — every one of the other ten towns we serve is its own separately incorporated municipality and handles that same question through its own town or city office; see the table above for each one's link. See our permits guide for more. If your project involves any digging or footing work, call Call Before You Dig CT (call 811) first so underground lines get located before a bucket ever goes in the ground.
Coastal New England weather genuinely changes the calculus here. A Nor'easter off Long Island Sound, coastal flooding near the shoreline towns, and an ordinary New England winter can occasionally push a delivery back half a day, and a heavy stretch of rain can turn a solid driveway soft — tell us if your project is time-sensitive around a forecast and we'll work the schedule around it. Beyond weather, steady renovation growth in denser Bridgeport neighborhoods and ordinary suburban home projects keep a predictable share of our schedule booked, so booking a few days ahead during a busy stretch is worth it.
Local knowledge
Why local coverage actually matters
Anyone can put a list of place names on a web page. What makes a difference on delivery day is whether the driver you get has actually been down your street.
Our own drivers know that a narrow downtown block needs a different placement than a wide suburban driveway out toward Easton or Weston, and they know how a dense city delivery differs from a standard suburban homeowner cleanout. They also know what an approaching Nor'easter does to a delivery schedule along the shoreline.
That local knowledge is the difference between a container that lands exactly where you want it and a wasted trip.
